Why I’ll quit KLOUT

Klout logo

I’ve already talked about my doubts on how Klout works and if it is really thorough.

In my opinion Klout could be a useful tool to monitor and drive your presence in social media. As any analysis tool, however, it would give to you the way to understand what works, what doesn’t but, overall, why. According to the business intelligence theory, a synthetic score is meaningful if it can be drilled-down to the elements from which is calculated. If you can do like that, then the score can help you to monitor your goals and your social media strategy. Elsewere, you have some evaluation indexes but you can’t relate them to your network activities…

In my experience, I saw klout score growing up when I didn’t engage with anyone, and dropping when my contents engaged people. Sometimes it goes up, other times it falls down. Why? I really don’t know.

So, who cares about Klout score if it can’t help me to understand my social media activities?

That’s why I’ll quit Klout…
